Valorant Team Battle Mode Launched
Valorant has lived up to the long-awaited expectations of the gaming community by introducing Team DM in the Ep 7 update. This mode brings intense combat between two teams, divided into teams of five people, on three new maps, each team will have the goal of taking down 100 enemies. Released alongside the 7.0 update on June 27, the event was also paired with Riot Games' release of MaxBot, a combat training robot. The former MaxBot was converted into a vacuum cleaner after completing a military training mission, and now it's back for revenge and endless battles.
Team TDM is an important part of Valorant, it adheres to the fundamentals of the first-person shooter (FPS) series. In this mode, players are quickly revived and can receive weapons at the start of each match. Unlike the regular or competitive mode, there is no economy or shopping system in TDM, so gamers don't need to worry about accumulating money or fighting for resources.
Moreover, players do not need to buy skills with money, but these skills will be provided based on cooldown. However, the timing of the ultimate still depends on killing enemies and picking up special gems on the map. The player's goal is to score the most kills in 9 minutes and 30 seconds, and the process is divided into four stages, creating variety and fun.
In TDM mode, the player can change weapons before the battle or when respawning. However, when a new phase begins, the loading will be upgraded automatically to prevent gamers from using only the most powerful guns during the match. Valorant's TDM update also brings three new custom maps, including Piazza, District, and Kasbah , exclusive to this mode.
On these maps, weapon spawn points (Weapon Spawners) are placed in fixed locations, usually providing guns. However, the power of these weapons will be limited in accordance with the stage of the match, to ensure balance. If you get stuck, you can search for Recovery Orbs, which restore health and shields in 6 seconds.
Kyle Powell, game designer, said: "Our goal when creating Team Deathmatch was to provide a game-focused experience where gamers could showcase their creativity and skill. It allows players to compete without too much restraint in an environment that promotes bold play and quick reflexes."
Despite some aggressive hype during the first few weeks of launch, Valorant's TDM mode hasn't yet surpassed the larger competitive modes in the game. However, like CSGO, this can be a great opportunity for skill training and target assessment, and it's an addition that gamers should welcome.
