Shadow's skill set
Internal skills
Players will have an Umbra Meter bar on their screen. You will fill up the darkness bar on the target and various Shadow skills and fill the Umbra Meter in varying amounts.
The Umbra Meter will also automatically fill up at night, the Umbra bar can only be drained by using Corvus Torment (move V). The user will gain a dark aura around them that will grow larger, depending on the amount of Umbra Meter on the bar you have. Note that Dark Aura cannot cause damage to anyone and is only for aesthetic purposes.
Key skill sets
Attack name | Description | Requires proficiency points |
---|---|---|
(Z) Somber Rebellion | The player turns into a small ball of darkness, which then rushes towards the player's mouse pointer. When making contact with an opponent, the player will transform into a crow and deal damage to the enemy, then launch themselves into the air, leaving the enemy on the ground. You will receive i-frames for the duration of your travel if you land. | 1 proficient |
(X) Shade Nest | The player shoots a flock of crows towards the cursor. Upon contact with a surface, the crows will explode, dealing damage and releasing several small crows, which will then fly to nearby enemies and damage those around them. Crows with a target will automatically fly towards the target if close enough. Note: multiple crows can attack the same target. | 100 proficient |
(C) Nightmare Leech | The player rushes forward. If your character comes into contact with an enemy, you will recover 20% of your maximum health and deal good damage to the enemy, knocking them back. This move is similar to Superhuman C. | 200 proficient |
(V) Corvus Torment | The player turns their body into a giant black hole. The player will then explode, depleting their entire Umbra gauge. The explosion will deal massive damage while also leaving behind a flock of crows that will passively damage any enemies inside the cloud's range. Enemies' vision will also be slightly distorted if they are hit by the blast. The size of the black hole and explosion is based on the player's Umbra Meter. A larger Umbra Meter will produce a larger hitbox. The rest of the explosion isn't exactly stunning. Instead, it's like a magnet pulling enemies back inside the remaining explosion, similar to real-life black holes. However, it is possible to escape the remnants of the explosion by using teleportation skills such as Flash Step (Soru), Paw F, Dark F or Rumble F. | 300 proficiency |
(F) Umbrage | The player transforms into a flock of crows, giving the player the ability to fly at a medium speed. Flying close to the enemy will cause a slight stun and damage to the enemy. | 50 proficient |

X (Shade Nest): 4440 (Instant damage [732] + Continuous damage x 7-8 (512.3 x 7-8)
C (Nightmare Leech): 3513.2 (Instant damage [1756.6 x 2])
V (Corvus Torment): 8783.3 (Full Umbra Meter Explosion [4391.8] + Continuous Stun and Damage x30 [146.3 x 30])
F (Umbrage): 10977 (Continuous Stun damage [365.9 x 30])
Some tips about the Shadow fruit
- The most damaging Devil Fruit ever (Since Update 17 Part 3)
- All moves deal damage.
- (C) Nightmare Leech heals the user for 20% of their maximum health when used on a target, which can be extremely useful when the player is low on health.
- Can be used as both the main devil fruit and main sword due to the combo potential it has.
- (V) Corvus Torment has a really big range when the Umbra Meter is full.
- Even if the user has a low Umbra Meter level, Corvus Torment will still deal very high damage. Also great for crowded areas thanks to its large damage range.
- (Z) Somber Rebellion can be used to escape combo attacks (if timed correctly), as it sends the player flying into the air.
- The ability to combine combo attacks is very good
- Not as difficult to get used to as other devil fruits
- The shadow crows of (X)Shade Nest are essentially guided missiles, and they will seek out nearby enemies.
- Shade Nest's crows have automatic aiming and will fly towards the target if they are not too far away. This makes Shade Nest suitable for 1v1 phases and boss kills.
- Good mobility, in addition, 3 skills Umbrage, Somber Rebellion and Nightmare Leech can also be used to move.
- Somber Rebellion is a good counter attack when the player is under attack. Just use Somber Rebellion if someone is running towards you, then launch a combo at them.
- You can also use Somber Rebellion to get out of certain moves, as the user will be moving a long distance and they will be doing it quite quickly. And at the end of the move, you will be pushed back a bit. Nightmare Leech can also be used, but it has an end delay.
- Shade Nest has pretty good range
- In addition to its ability to heal the user, Nightmare Leech can be used similar to Superhuman's C-move, where the user rushes forward and knocks the opponent back.
- Nightmare Leech is also very good for combos because it can predict where the opponent will be pushed back. However, it is a bit slow, so experienced players can use this to their advantage.
- Attack F (Umbrage), can be used to prevent NPCs from healing (e.g. Training Dummy NPC).
- The Umbra bar is easier to fill than Dragon's and Venom's rage bars because using movement skills on the target will cause the Umbra bar to fill faster. Another reason is that the Umbra bar can automatically regenerate if it is evening.
- Somber Rebellion, Nightmare Leech, and Corvus Torment can all negate Observation Haki. (For Corvus Torment, the target must be near the center of the blast to break Observation Haki.)
- It's not too difficult to combine with other Mythical fruits.
- Very powerful if can be combined with the Yama sword, one of the .
- Most of the combos of the Shadow fruit can be easily performed with even current Smartphones.
