Tips for playing Impostor effectively in Among Us

To be a fake, you must know how to sneak, take advantage of the mechanics of the game and, above all, be brazen. The following tips will help you play Impostor more effectively and win.

1. Pretend duty

To become a professional Impostor, you need to pretend to be on duty so that your crew can trust. Doing this can be both easy and difficult. Simply put, you just need to stand by the duty position for a while while someone is watching. But there will be players who can rely on loopholes to denounce you. So how to pretend to be a 'round shoulder'.

The first requirement is to memorize the tasks you need to perform while playing Crewmate to know the time to complete them. Then, when you fake a mission, leave it after a reasonable amount of time. If you stay on a short mission for too long, or vice versa, you'll be spotted. For example, the Meteor Shooting mission in Weapons room, the duration of this mission is about 10 seconds, don't leave too soon or too late.

You should also stay away from the missions with visibility, for example the Meteor Shoot quest, other players can see if the gun barrel really works or not.

2. Beat trusted players

Occasionally, there will be players with absolute trust, as in the case where they have done a mission that can show or have clear alibi. You must quickly find a way to kill these players. Do it quickly, do not waste too much time hesitating or go kill other Crewmates first, that will put you in a position of suspicion. 3. Act like a Crewmate

Imagine you are a normal crew member, except for some of the special abilities of Impostor. Talking, voting and doubting other people like that are also confused. But don't rush to accuse others and attract your attention.

The initiative is also a factor that leads you to the trust of others. Don't be afraid to stir controversy. After you've found a murder, you can ask other players about their location, giving you the information you have obtained (except for your hand ^^). If someone sees you near a corpse or commit murder, try to blame them or explain yourself and protect both.

4. Help out the Crewmate

Building trust is an important factor in winning the game. Try ways like protecting another player or reporting yourself. Protecting another player will make that player trust you more and tend to vote less for you later. When you self-report the corpse, you are also naturally playing the role of a 'innocent' crew member, and there is a high chance that you can remove yourself from the list of suspects.

5. Careful Camera

Map Skeld and Polus have cameras to look closely at certain locations on the map, a crewmate watching the camera can see you killed someone. Pay attention to the cameras mounted on the wall, if the red light is flashing, it means that people are watching. So don't do anything shady in that area. One method you can do is go to the security room to take down the 'curious'.

6. Quickly finish the game

As you know, the impostor wins when the number of sides is equal. For example, when it's just you and two other crewmates, try to kill 1 person right away. For experienced players, they will try to prevent this from happening by pressing an Emergency call. Perform a sabotage to prevent the player from pressing a button and forcing them to leave. When possible, take action.

7. Kill in the crowd

This is a popular and annoying method for Crewmate. If there are many people standing in the same position (at least 4), and one person is suddenly stabbed to death, it is difficult to determine who made the move. Take advantage of this. To do this, you need to gather enough players in one place, like destroying an Electric or a Reactor. When you see that many players have gathered, you need to pretend to run to fix them. And 'pk'! One person lay down and everyone (including you) was surprised.
