Tips to play effective Crewmate in Among Us

However, the reality is not so easy when you are always faced with mischievous Impostor players, always looking for ways to destroy. The following tips will make it easier for you to reach victory in the game.

Go together

The best way to stop Impostor is to go on missions with other crew members. Impostor will not be able to kill you because your companion will immediately find out. Of course, there will be times when you are unlucky with the two Impostors and they will hide from each other. So you need to note that the number of members of the group depends on the number of Impostor. If there are 2 Impostors on the map, you need to go with a group of 5 to be safe enough, because the bad guy has the ability to kill 2 people at once.

Follow other people on duty

Whenever you see a player in a mission position, don't assume they're actually doing it. If they complete the task, the taskbar will pop up. You also need to research completion times for different tasks. If you see a person standing too long on a short mission, it is most likely Impostor.

Use Emergency Call

Emergency meetings are mainly used to find out who a killer is. But why don't you use them to strategize with your teammates? You can suggest groups to go together or ask people to see you do a visual task. However, this is also sometimes harmful because the crew may not know where the body is located.

Common Task

If you get a common task like 'inserting a key' in Polus or 'swipe a card' in Skeld, everyone else has it too. That means if you don't have a joint mission nobody else has it. If you see someone on a shared mission you don't have, they are Impostor. So you need to memorize what common quests each map has in order to check it easily.

Don't waste the visible task (Visual Task)

Only Crewmate can do the quests, which is why the visible quests are so valuable. If you see someone completing a visual task, such as 'body scan' in Medbay, or 'dump' in Storage, they're 100% clean. In other words, if you do a visible quest with no other player by your side, you're wasting it. To assert yourself, call on or wait for others to be present while you are doing them.

Always try to fix vandalism

Don't wait for someone else to fix a vandalism. If all Crewmates have the same mindset, you will lose the game for sure. Of course, the risk of no one fixing the sabotage becomes greater as the number of players decreases. If you really want to skip it, do it only at the beginning of the game, when lots of people are still alive. And remember: vandalism can be used to set traps, so keep trying to move in groups.

Do not rush

If you have, or someone has presented evidence to accuse a person, don't be afraid to vote and get that player out. But if everything is based on speculation, don't take the risk. Especially in the early game, there are many players and there are still opportunities to find Impostor, you do not need to be impatient.

Pay attention to the vent (vent)

In many cases, Crewmates forget that Impostor can use the air vent to go back and forth between rooms without anyone seeing. If someone doesn't come in but goes out in a room, they go through vent. Find out which way the vents come together, and rely on speculation to find a killer.

Room checking

While running towards your mission, check the rooms you pass through to find the corpse. If all the members were too focused on doing the task, it could take time for a body to be found, with all information being erased. And there is also a risk of more deaths.

Check Door Log

This is a feature on the Mira HQ map, which keeps a record of every player that has passed through a sensor. There are three sensors placed on the map. This diary can help you find out who was where at the time of the murder and who was lying. Note that Door Log only shows the last 20 events. This feature is useful for you to detect Impostors using vents.

Use Camera

Cameras in Skeld and Polus give you information about people's locations, you can even catch an Impostor. However, when you watch the camera, an experienced Impostor will know from the flashing red camera mounted on the wall.
