Microsoft has quietly lifted the rule of not naming the application with the word " Metro" on its app store. A WPCentral source said that this is not a rule set by Microsoft but a minor error on the Windows Store. Currently, the software company has not announced the official reason for this.
Previously, many applications were returned to developers in a "non-confirmation" state because their names contained the word "Metro". This has made many software companies worried because they have to think of new names for applications that are already familiar to users.
Some people initially predicted the move by Microsoft to avoid any "Metro " brand disputes with German retailer Metro AG. "The software giant" was even threatened with unauthorized use of the brand and was forced to give a new name to its interface, Modern UI instead of Metro UI.
