The new Realme smartphone hasn't even been released yet and it's already been stolen

Realme Spain admitted the incident and posted an apology on social network X.

According to Realme Spain, the theft occurred due to "force majeure factors" and the company was unable to retrieve the stolen shipment despite its best efforts. Therefore, the release schedule of Realme GT6 in local stores has been delayed.

This Realme incident shows that supply chain transportation, especially for high-value electronic devices, has vulnerabilities.

The robbery happened in the evening, when the driver of the transport vehicle was resting at a rest stop. The thieves shot the driver, broke open the truck, and stole all the goods inside.

Realme GT6 was scheduled to be launched internationally on June 20, but the theft threw these plans into disarray, causing significant delays. Realme Spain emphasized that it is doing its best to resolve the situation.

Realme GT6 is the international version of the Realme GT Neo6 that was released in China. Realme GT6 is equipped with a rear camera system including a 50 MP main camera using a Sony LYT-600 sensor and f/1.9 lens, an 8 MP super wide-angle camera and a 32 MP selfie camera. The device's configuration includes Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, 12GB RAM, curved OLED screen with brightness up to 6,000 nits, 5500mAh battery that supports 120W SuperVOOC fast charging.
