According to MT, there are currently 35 recognized blood group systems and divided into eight basic types of blood, namely A, AB, B, O and their positive (+) or negative (-) variants.

According to the American Red Cross, the rarest blood type is AB (-) with only 1% of whites in possession. Blood B (-) and O (-) also account for less than 5% of the world's population for each.

Rh-Null Blood

Rh-null blood type was first discovered in 1961 from an Australian aboriginal woman. By 2010, an additional 43 people were found to own this type of blood, of which only 9 agreed to donate.

Rh-null contains no antigen in the Rh system so it is very rare and special. The fact that the blood does not contain an antigen allows it to be transmitted to all blood types in the world, including the extremely rare Rh-blood type.

Bombay blood type

This blood type was discovered in 1952 in Bombay, India. The special thing about this blood type is that it lacks the antigens A, B and H. People with this rare blood type can only receive blood from another Bombay blood type individual.

It is estimated that the percentage of Bombay blood type owners is one in 1,000,000 in Europe and one in 10,000 Indians.

Blood The Lu (ab-) or Lutheran

This rare blood type was first discovered by a patient named Luteran in 1945. The phenotype Lu (ab-) is extremely rare, the percentage of people owning this blood type is about one in 3,000.

Rh blood is negative

Rh (-) is not uncommon but so far scientists have not been able to determine the origin of this blood type. Many researchers believe that people with this type of blood are the result of a random mutation or a descendant of another ancestor.

There is some evidence that Rh (-) blood type appeared about 35,000 years ago. This blood type does not follow the normal evolutionary pathway and is least likely to mutate in all blood types.
