In the game, young people are trapped at Hackett's Quarry in upstate New York, becoming the target of a number of blood-deranged locals and something much more disturbingly mysterious.

The Quarry features nine playable characters, played by veteran Hollywood actors, who must survive a night at Hackett's Quarry. Depending on the player's choices and reactions, all of the main characters can either survive the challenge or fail altogether.

Choose your ideal playing style

As a survival horror game, The Quarry can be played in a number of ways. The game offers around 7-10 hours of gameplay and over 180 different endings, so players should determine how they want to approach their horror experience.

One feature of The Quarry is the Movie mode, which offers some gameplay tweaks to make the experience as similar to the movie as possible.

There is also a Movie-only mode that allows the player to select the personality traits of different characters at the start of the level, before the story continues without much input.

Local multiplayer (allowing to assign different characters to players) and Online multiplayer (all players vote on key decisions) are also available.

Carefully read the instructions of the game

As players delve deeper into The Quarry, players will encounter a list of watchable tutorials to understand how the various mechanics work and how to react correctly in certain situations. These will include Quick Time Events, Evidence, Interrupts, Path Chosen, Combat and Don't Breathe.

The most important of these are Combat (combat), Quick Time Events (quick time events) and Don't Breath (not breathing) as they will determine if a character survives or dies, based on level the player's performance of these mechanisms.

The roads in The Quarry

Players should know that there are 15 Paths in the game. These Quarry paths are the main points of the story or the main choices that have a real impact on the story.

When a path is activated, the game will notify the Path Chosen to the player on the screen. Further decisions tied to that particular path will be notified to the player with a Path Updated prompt.

Knowing about these paths can help the player track their progress throughout the story. Moreover, some achievements and titles will be related to certain paths, so if you want to complete them, players should pay attention to them.
