Recently, Samsung regained the leading position in global smartphone sales.

According to the latest data from IDC, Apple's iPhone sales in the first quarter of 2024 decreased by 9.6% compared to the same period last year, which caused the company's global market share to decrease to only 17.3 %. Meanwhile, Samsung shipped 60.1 million phones in the first 3 months of 2024, 11.5 million units higher than previous forecast, mainly thanks to Galaxy AI advertising activities of the Galaxy S24 series .

With a global market share of 20.8%, Samsung has become the smartphone market leader, after this position fell to Apple at the end of 2023.

However, AI is not the only advantage of the Samsung Galaxy S24 phone line.

In Ookla's latest 5G speed tests, the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra showed their outstanding speeds. Not only that, the Samsung Galaxy 24 series also achieves the fastest download speed and lowest latency when using 5G connection.

Test results show that 5G download/upload speeds increased sharply for both service providers and high-end 5G phone models themselves.

According to Ookla, 5G speeds in the US have increased significantly in all aspects. The Samsung Galaxy S24 phone line leads with an average 5G download speed of 306.90 Mbps, and the lowest average 5G latency of 45.71 ms.

Galaxy S24 series users enjoy speeds that are approximately 75 Mbps faster than speeds on S22 models (232.46 Mbps) and approximately 65 Mbps faster than speeds on S23 devices (241.60 Mbps)

Currently, Apple has abandoned efforts to create its own 5G modem because it is too complicated and signed a multi-year partnership with Qualcomm. The company is also using Snapdragon
