Samsung NC 10 - silent warrior

Samsung's netbook debuted at the end of last year and is one of the first 10-inch models. The NC 10 also limits the disadvantages of netbooks such as narrow keyboards and poor batteries.

When it comes to Samsung, people will think of a big "big man" in the mobile phone and TV market. On the laptop market, this company seems to be "silent". In fact, Samsung also has their own laptop or netbook, but this is not the strength for the company to compete.

Samsung NC 10 launched in November last year, when the netbook market was "down". But the delay has made the Korean electronics firm have time to fill the gap that other netbook companies have. Besides the microprocessor designed specifically for netbooks (Intel Atom N260), the NC 10 has a large screen (10 inches), a large keyboard space, a large capacity HDD, and connections like a card reader. Remember, the battery is durable and, above all, an eye-catching design.

The case is made of chromium alloy, covered with a thin plastic layer, which creates the softness in design and increases the durability of the machine. Unlike other products, this plastic coating is not so glossy that it does not reprint fingerprints when users close and open the lid. Highlights of the face are the Samsung logo and two shiny silver dials, both a highlight and a design that makes the product soft.

Samsung NC 10 is one of the first netbooks equipped with 10.2-inch LCD screen, 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, giving sharp images. Even when opening at an angle of 45o, the user does not see glare. The view of the screen is also wide enough for two people to share together when enjoying good movies or beautiful photos.

Just above the screen is a 1.3 Megapixel Webcam and a built-in Microphone (Built-in Micro) that is very convenient for video chat and conducting VoIP conversations or videoconferencing.

The keyboard of the Samsung NC 10 is wider than the keyboard of pre-market netbooks, it is about 93% the size of a normal keyboard. The improvement in space shows that Samsung has fully exploited consumer feedback on the disadvantages of previous netbooks. The layout of the keys is also very convenient for the user, the right Shift key has a full size right below the Enter key, the Page Up and Page Down keys are arranged in the right corner of the keyboard and the scroll key group. With the wide size and reasonable layout of keys, those who often have to type in text feel more secure.

The touchpad of Samsung NC 10 is quite responsive. Scrolling bar is very handy when browsing the web or reading long texts. Unlike the Acer Aspire One, the NC 10 mouse control button is under the touchpad and it doesn't work as well as the ASUS Eee PC, so when used, it looks like a traditional laptop.

A feature in the design of Samsung NC 10 is the LED system next to the machine and the port symbols on the sides of the flank which help the user to be very recognizable during the use process. Next to the right is the Headphone / Mic jack, a USB port, VGA port and the shutdown switch located neatly at the rotating joint position. The left side contains a charger and Ethernet port, 2 USB ports with a heat sink between. In addition, Samsung NC 10 is also equipped with SD card slot in front of the device.

Samsung NC10 has a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics card, 160 GB HDD hard drive with 5,400 rpm that works stably on the platform Operating Windows XP Home Edition SP2. This configuration supports well office applications, web browsing needs.

The Samsung NC10 uses a 5,200 mAh 6 cell battery, which lasts up to 4 hours 41 minutes when playing media files, longer than the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, the HP Mini 1000, Lenovo Ideapad S10, just shorter than the Asus Eee. PC 901 and 1000H.

With a 6-cell battery, the total weight is about 1.1 kg lighter than the Asus Eee PC 1000H (1.3kg), which is not much heavier than the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 and MSI Wind approximately 1 , 1 kg.

It is available in 3 colors of white, black and blue with 2 versions of Windows XP Home Edition SP2 operating system in English and Korean at $ 499. Currently the new Samsung NC10 appears in Vietnam by way of portable, reference price is about VND 9.5 million.
