According to MetroStore Scanner , an unofficial source tracks the number of applications posted to the Windows Store, the new Windows Store currently has nearly 43,000 applications for users to download.

In the above table is the daily application growth data of Windows 8. On average, there are 200 new applications appearing on Windows Store every day. Data from MetroStore Scaner said that on Saturday (February 16), a record of 359 approved applications was recorded, while on Wednesday (February 13) there were only 79 new applications.

Microsoft once expected to have 100,000 applications posted to the Windows Store store in early February 2013. Therefore, the number 43,000 is indeed disappointing.
