Genetic scientist Enrico Cappellini of the University of Copenhagen and Biochemist Matthew Collins of York University in the United Kingdom said they and the research team conducted analysis of protein sequences in fossil samples and unexpectedly extracted , decoding more than 5000 ancient amino acids from half a dozen fossil proteins of ancient animals.
