Microsoft disappointed many people again with Windows 11

To install Windows 11, Microsoft requires the PC to be equipped with at least 4 GB of RAM, although the system cannot use all of this. Of course, a modern PC with 4 GB RAM is quite simple, but to aim for a real AI PC system, the number required by Microsoft is much higher.

Now, a latest report shows that Microsoft may set a minimum RAM requirement of 16 GB to be able to operate the Copilot AI assistant that the company sees as a highlight in future Windows 11 PCs. Otherwise, Copilot will operate with many limitations as it is simply a cloud-based service instead of retrieving local data.

This requirement means that future Windows 11 PCs, including desktops and laptops, will need to be equipped with 16 GB or more of RAM to be certified for everything to work properly. smoothly on Copilot. With the recent announcement of Copilot Pro to be able to work on Office applications (Word, Excel or PowerPoint), perhaps this is something that users continue to need to meet if they want to exploit all the power from this artificial intelligence service.

In case users do not need Copilot, having 4 GB RAM or more on Windows 11 PCs is still mandatory. However, as Microsoft is aiming for an AI PC, it would not be surprising if 8 GB RAM becomes a mandatory requirement for the upcoming Windows platform, specifically Windows 12.
