Meta starts releasing LLaMA 'super AI' language model to researchers

After a long time of silence and 'letting' competitors such as Microsoft, Google or even Baidu take the spotlight, Meta (Facebook) has finally fired its first powerful shot into the field of 'super intelligence'. Artificial intelligence' is developing extremely hot recently.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg has just announced on his personal Facebook page that Meta is releasing a 'most advanced new AI large language model' called LLaMA, which will be used by researchers to powerfully promote ambitious AI projects. Mark Zuckerberg did not elaborate on how researchers could gain access to the technology. However, the presence of LLaMA is expected to further heat up the super AI race when large technology companies are unable to stay out of the artificial intelligence trend.

LLaMA (Large Language Model Meta AI) is an open-source operating model, allowing researchers and organizations of government, society, and academia to use it for free. In the post, CEO Meta stated that large language models (LLMs) have been proven to be very effective in creating texts, chatting, document summaries, and solving other problems related to math and science. However, the fact that the LLaMA-oriented Meta is aimed at researchers raises the question of whether this AI model can be accessed by the general public as it can with OpenAI's ChatGPT, which is also an LLM model.

At the current stage, LLaMA will focus on 20 languages ​​using Latin and Cyrillic alphabets (excluding Vietnamese). Meta's model is said to require "much less" computing power than previous super AIs. LLaMA has a maximum of 65 billion parameters, which is only a third of ChatGPT, but trained on 1,400 billion words, five times higher than OpenAI's super AI.

LLM models mine large amounts of text to summarize information and create content. For example, they can answer questions in writing as if they were written by a human. This is also the biggest advantage that companies and users aim for.
