Melted crayons can write on every surface of Crayola: new parents nightmare?
Working in the same way as 3D printing pens but not for creating 3D objects, Crayola's new Crayon Melter pen turns colored bars into a ink that allows kids to write on any surface!
Crayon Melter pen is aimed at children aged 8 and over. Why? Because even though the pen is "boxed" in an insulating protective case, with an inner heater to "melt" the pieces of wax into a liquid wax, if the device gets into the hands of the Younger children - who are not yet aware of the harmful effects of writing on real walls or furniture - from a creative toy, this pen will be a nightmare for any household.
It only takes less than 1 minute for the Crayon Melter to melt wax pieces after you attach it, and you can freely draw with an oversized ballpoint pen. Besides being an interesting device that attracts the attention of young children, Crayon Melter also has the potential to become a useful tool to support the creativity of older children.
Wax after being melted can stick to many types of surfaces that conventional waxes have to "give up", and after it dries - which almost immediately after being written - those lines will be water resistant and very durable, depending on the type of surface. Definitely easier to erase the wax stains on a sheet of glass than on a cloth!
The Crayon Melter will be available later this year, possibly in August, for just $ 25, and will only come with 8 different wax colors. Perhaps it's time to rummage around to find the wax pens you used to use as a kid!
