Lenovo IdeaPad S10 - Impressive from simplicity
Not too shiny in appearance, this netbook's strengths are simplicity, convenience and ability to work effectively .
The IdeaPad S10's appearance is exactly the same as the S9 version, except that the body is bigger because of the 10-inch screen. The S10 has a square design similar to the Acer Aspire One and Dell Mini 9 but has fewer curves and is thicker. The case also attaches only the Lenovo logo, not any more decorative details. The whole body is covered with white plastic and has a sturdy structure.

On the two sides, Lenovo equipped the IdeaPad S10 with all the necessary connection ports, notably the ExpressCard slot, a detail rarely seen in netbooks. In addition, there are two USB ports on both sides to make it easier to use an external mouse, a VGA port to connect the monitor, a memory card reader, an Ethernet port, a port to lock the device and microphone jacks, headphone. You can also use the S10 with wireless mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth connection to save a USB port.
The front edge of the machine is where Lenovo uses it for the IdeaPad S10 speaker layout. This is a way to take advantage of the creative area of the manufacturer, because the back edge and hinges have been reserved for batteries, but it is this design that greatly affects the sound quality of the speakers. Because it is located at the front edge, the sound output will not reach the user's ear but head straight to the waist and chest. However, the sound quality of Lenovo IdeaPad S10 is quite clear and better than many other netbooks.
A small but highly appreciated detail on this device is the built-in webcam above the screen. Images when video chat with this webcam appears quite bright and clear.
The screen is 10 inches wide with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, which helps to display the full web without using the scroll bar. With an anti-glare layer and a wide viewing angle, you can use the outdoor or light-rich environments.
However, the IdeaPad S10 keyboard doesn't really make users feel comfortable. Those with big fingers are sure to find it difficult because the keyboard is a bit cramped, the buttons are small.
Not only the keyboard, but also the touchpad of the S10 is designed a bit small. Although responsive to the movements of the user's hand, but if the touchpad surface is a little wider, it will make operation easier.
Lenovo IdeaPad S10 configuration includes 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 60 GB hard drive and Windows XP operating system, equivalent to the newer series of netbooks recently released. With this configuration, the device can run well basic applications such as office, web browsing, photo editing or listening to music, watching regular videos. When operating, the machine runs smoothly but after about 30 minutes it starts to get hot. However, the amount of heat generated by the machine is not too large.
Although only equipped with 3-cell battery, Lenovo IdeaPad S10 can operate continuously for about 3.5 hours, if you turn off unused wireless connections and leave the screen brightness at a moderate level .
This product is sold in Vietnam for more than 8 million VND.
