Launching a pocket camera with 8K video recording capability and extremely long battery life
Insta360 X4 camera introduction video.
The Insta360 X4 Pocket Camera is the company's first 8K 360° camera. It can shoot 8K video at 30fps and now uses the more efficient H.265 codec (the previous Insta360 X3 camera only had H.264). However, the maximum bitrate for video has been increased to 200Mbps to handle the extra resolution.
At the same time, the camera can record 5.7K quality video at 60fps (up from 30fps compared to the old version) and 4K at 100fps.

The camera also comes with additional improvements. For example, Me Mode will automatically stay in frame.
MaxView mode can shoot 170° video in 4K resolution at 60fps, up from 30fps. Timelapse videos get a resolution boost to 11K. These are big improvements over the previous version.
The camera is extremely durable.
The Insta360 X4 camera features a 2.5-inch touchscreen display protected by Gorilla Glass. The two lenses also feature removable lens protectors to prevent permanent scratches.
The 2,290mAh battery inside also helps the camera to extend its battery life. Specifically, the Insta360 X4 can last up to 135 minutes in 5.7K video recording mode at 30fps, 67% longer than the Insta360 X3 camera. Meanwhile, if recording video in 8K mode, the camera only lasts 75 minutes.
Basic parameters of Insta360 X4 camera.
Notably, the camera is waterproof to a depth of 10m without additional protection. Interested customers can purchase the Invisible Dive Case for better waterproofing to a depth of 50m. In addition, the camera can be used in cold environments, down to -20°C for shooting skiing videos. In addition, the product is quite light, weighing only 203g.
The video recording capabilities and durability of the device are partly thanks to the 5nm AI chip. The camera uses a ½-inch sensor, capable of shooting 72MP photos (available in INSP and DNG formats).
The Insta360 X4 camera is available now from the company's online store as well as retailers like Amazon. It costs $500 in the US and €560 in Europe.
