Intel announced that the new driver will enable integrated Intel HD 4000 Graphics on Ivy Bridge chips to increase performance by up to 10% while saving more battery. However, the largest chip maker did not give a specific figure about the device's ability to save battery power after updating new drivers. At the same time, Intel added the ability to support the OpenCL programming language 1.2 into the upcoming driver.
The new driver version for Intel HD 4000 Graphics chip will have a code of 15.31. Intel said the graphics driver will also be applied to its new generation, Haswell.
Recently, Intel has also released new drivers for older Intel HD 3000 Graphics chip. However, whether or not this update is the same as the Intel HD 4000 Graphics driver.
