Nvidia won the race to design chips for notebooks

Graphic designer Nvidia has announced that it has won the race to design notebook chips for 2011 with 200 samples.

These new models will be released next year, and are compatible with Intel's upcoming Sandy Bridge processor.

Nvidia's current direct competitor is Advanced Micro Devices . But the company has not yet surpassed Nvidia, when two years in a row Nvidia won a larger share of the graphic chip design market.

In 2010, multinational corporation Nvidia won the race to design 125 graphics chip models for personal notebooks.

Recently, CEO Jen-Hsun also expressed that he expects Nvidia to dominate the notebook graphics chip market.

Nvidia's chip is an important part of Intel's plans, because their new processor, Sandy Bridge, will be integrated with graphics.

However, according to Wedbush analyst Patrick Wang, in early 2011, PC makers would still choose a safe route, with discrete graphics chips in notebooks, not relying solely on micro Intel's new "integrated" processor.
