Instructions on how to resize, position, rotate, and flip images in Adobe Illustrator.
1. Select the object or shape.
Before editing any object or shape, the first step is to distinguish it from other objects by selecting it. Once the object or part of the object has been selected, we can edit it as required.
Click the Selection tool; when the cursor appears, click on the object or group of objects.
To select multiple objects, draw a selection around the objects using the Selection tool or press Shift + click the objects .
To select objects within a group, double-click or press and hold Cmd/Ctrl + click the objects .
To select an item without filling it with color, click on the object's outline.
2. Adjust the object size
Select an object or group of objects, then drag the small circular icon. Within object groups, you'll see these icons appear around the group's boundary box. Drag these icons/handles to resize the object or group of objects.
To lock the aspect ratio of objects while resizing them, click the lock icon in the Property Inspector. This will maintain the width-to-height ratio of the object as you resize it.
3. Rotate the object
To rotate or flip an object in Adobe Illustrator, first select the object or group of objects.
Hover your mouse over the circular handle icons and move the cursor slightly outside the handles to display the rotating cursor icon.
A rotating cursor icon will appear on the screen; drag the handle icon in the desired direction to rotate it.
Alternatively, you can use the Shift key to rotate the object 45 degrees.
