Huawei opened an R&D center five times larger than Apple Park

Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center is built according to European architecture located southwest of Shanghai city. The center has an area of ​​1.6 million square meters, divided into 8 areas with full infrastructure of roads, railways, and overhead bridges to connect with each other. Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center cost 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion) to complete.

Inside the center, there are more than 40,000 offices, and will be the workplace for 35,000 employees. The project started in September 2021 and was completed after more than 3 years of construction.

According to Huawei founder Nham Chinh Phi, the project was inspired by the Chicago Lakeside complex.

Huawei said the center will bring together the company's next-generation semiconductor and mobile network research efforts, including wireless technology such as 5G-A/6G, HiSilicon chip segment, smartphones, automobiles and renewable energy. create.

After suffering a series of US bans, Huawei increased its research and development activities. Not only does the company invest in the workplace, it also strives to attract top talent with competitive compensation packages.

Recently, Huawei has made great strides when cooperating with SMIC in producing 7 nm chips to equip smartphones and promoting the commercialization of 5.5G networks with higher speeds.
