Huawei opened an R&D center five times larger than Apple Park
Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center is built according to European architecture located southwest of Shanghai city. The center has an area of 1.6 million square meters, divided into 8 areas with full infrastructure of roads, railways, and overhead bridges to connect with each other. Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center cost 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion) to complete.
Inside the center, there are more than 40,000 offices, and will be the workplace for 35,000 employees. The project started in September 2021 and was completed after more than 3 years of construction.
According to Huawei founder Nham Chinh Phi, the project was inspired by the Chicago Lakeside complex.
Huawei said the center will bring together the company's next-generation semiconductor and mobile network research efforts, including wireless technology such as 5G-A/6G, HiSilicon chip segment, smartphones, automobiles and renewable energy. create.
