HP upgraded Elitebook W with Ivy Bridge chip

The 8470W, 8570W and 877W trio use the Ivy Bridge platform processor, AMD FirePro graphics and prices start at $ 1,329.

HP has just upgraded the Elitebook W workstation with three new models including: 8470W, 8570W and 877W. These laptops are 14, 15.6 and 17.3 inches in size, all equipped with AMD FirePro graphics. However, users of the 15.6 and 17.3-inch versions also have Nvidia's Quadro graphics option. The screen of Elitebook W uses IPS technology.

Elitebook W 2012 is also equipped with 16GB RAM and 24GB SSD cache. HP products are military, dust, shock and heat resistant. The prices of these three models are USD 1,329, USD 1,449 and USD 1,699 respectively. As expected, the manufacturer will launch the product on the market in June this year.

In addition, HP unveiled an additional workstation model, a desktop named Z220. Products using quad-core Xeon E3 chips or Pentium or Core i7 quad-core. The manufacturer also allows the choice of either AMD FirePro or Nvidia Quadro graphics cards. This model has integrated 32GB RAM and USB 3.0 connection. Estimated starting price of Z220 is 699 USD. Products will be available later this month.
