Table of Contents

These alternate stories branch away from the main timeline when you choose a different response or meet a hidden battle objective. This guide lists every starting condition and explains how to make the timed objectives easier.

How Sparking Episode branches work

Open Episode Battle and follow the map for one of its eight playable characters. A green fork marks a point where the story can split. Some branches begin with a dialogue choice; others require you to win quickly, avoid a particular attack, or satisfy another objective during combat.

Pause a battle and open Battle Details to check its current win conditions. Time-based branches must be completed on the default difficulty; lowering the difficulty can disable the alternate objective. Because updates may adjust individual battles, rely on the wording in Battle Details instead of assuming every encounter uses the same time limit.

Tips for timed alternate objectives

  • Check Battle Details first. If the alternate condition is absent, confirm that you selected the correct preceding choice and are not using reduced difficulty.
  • Build Ki safely. Knock the opponent away before charging instead of leaving yourself open at close range.
  • Use Sparking! Mode for sustained damage. A long rush combo followed by a knockback and an Ultimate can remove health faster than repeatedly firing easily blocked attacks.
  • Skip unnecessary downtime. Stay aggressive, use vanishes and counters to regain initiative, and retry promptly if the opponent's dialogue signals that the normal ending has taken over.
  • Replay from the correct map node. For multi-step routes such as Future Trunks's branches, starting only at the final battle may not preserve the earlier choice needed for the alternate path.

If a branch does not unlock

Return to the Episode Map and confirm that every earlier fork on the route points toward the alternate path. Reopen Battle Details during the decisive fight, restore the default difficulty if necessary, and repeat the objective without relying on an old fixed-time estimate. The game records the branch after the required battle or sequence is completed; simply winning by the normal condition is not enough.

These 14 entries cover the Sparking Episodes included in the base Episode Battle stories. Other downloadable modes and later story content are separate from this list.
