4 Anime Worth Watching on Crunchyroll

The first thing many people do with their Crunchyroll subscription is immediately add shows and movies to their watchlist. More importantly, they finally get to immerse themselves in a bunch of anime shows they've been dying to revisit with a fresh perspective.

Dan Da Dan

Dan Da Dan is definitely one of the most unique anime series you'll see in a long time. Some episodes burst with a strange mix of the supernatural and aliens, such as mysterious creatures and demons. At the same time, the show also sprinkles in some romantic stories between the characters, creating a layer of light humor that is very enjoyable, thanks in part to the voice cast.

One of the most impressive things is that the characters are so real and believable. The relationship between Okarun, Momo Ayase, and their friendships with many other characters feels real and relatable. As Okarun and Momo fight aliens and make friends along the way, you will love the unexpected romance that develops between the two.

Ranking of Kings

Ranking of Kings immediately catches our eye with its style, which gives us a feel of Studio Ghibli's Ponyo, as well as having a great opening song (which is extremely important). It gives the characters, even the grumpy ones, a very endearing cuteness. More importantly, it makes the wounds the characters endure, which are sometimes quite bloody, very jarring and meaningful.

Story-wise, Bojji's demeanor is endearing and sometimes a little silly, but that fits with his character (who is both deaf and mute). His physical appearance often causes enemies to underestimate him, and he later regrets it after being defeated. The show is very accepting of Bojji and his disabilities, and everyone is integrated without looking down on him. The overall message of accepting yourself and finding your strengths is something we will never forget from Ranking of Kings.

Parasyte

When you first watch Parasyte, you'll feel like you've been transported into the world of Junji Ito - a strange kind of body horror, in the form of a high school student who is possessed by a parasite that has the ability to twist and deform his body. Instead of the cultural horror of Junji Ito, the strangeness lies in the alien nature of the parasite that has taken up residence in Shinichi's hands.

Would you be surprised to learn that Shinichi and Migi actually become friends and make a great team, fighting off other parasites together? It's an odd pairing of two police officers, but it works, so Parasyte also brings some humor. In fact, Migi - that is, Parasyte - is actually really cute and incredibly funny.

Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball is the only series that many people want to revisit year after year. Dragon Ball absolutely deserves its place to this day and remains one of the prime examples of a fun, creative, and adorable shonen series. Not to mention the timeless look of the anime compared to today's glossy digital look.

If you're one of the many fans who started with Dragon Ball Z, then watching Dragon Ball is absolutely worth it. Goku is goofy, adorable, and innocent. Martial arts are at the core of the show, and despite his young age, Goku is always ready to fight the next strongest. More importantly, Dragon Ball is one of the best shows to introduce your friends and family to anime.
