How to record voice calls, video calls on Skype for phones

The demand for recording voice and video calls of users is huge, especially in the context that many people are working, studying at home through online conferencing applications.

In fact, there are quite a few online media platforms that have call recording built-in, except for Skype. So how to proceed recording voice calls, video calls on Skype? You only need to perform a few simple steps as follows:

Step 1: Start a call on Skype. The recording feature can be applied to both regular voice and video calls.

Step 3: You just need to click the Start Recording button , the call recording process will immediately take place. At the same time those who are participating in the call will also be notified that this call is being recorded. After the call ends or you turn off the recording feature, the recording will be shared with all participants in the conversation.

Note that the recording will be posted to your conversation and stored on Skype's servers for 30 days. You can download and save local records anytime during those 30 days, by doing the following:

Step 1: Press and hold the call recording button.

Step 2: Select Save and the recording will automatically be downloaded and stored on your device as an MP4 file.

How to share Skype call records

Step 1: Press and hold the call recording button.

Step 2: Click Forward to share the Skype call record to another conversation.

Some notes with the recording feature on Skype:

  1. The call recording feature is currently only available for Skype to Skype calls.
  2. When the recording starts, everyone in the call will receive a notification.
  3. If you record a video call, Skype will make sure everyone's video stream (including your call) is fully combined and recorded.
  4. When you stop recording, end a call, or leave a group call, the recording will stop. The recording is still shared with all other members as usual.
  5. Maximum time to record a call is 24 hours. Longer calls can be divided into multiple audio recordings.
  6. The recording will be posted to your conversation and stored on Skype's servers for 30 days.
