How to use MyAnimeList to track anime and manga

While it's possible to view MyAnimeList's 'huge' library without an account, it's still a good idea to create it to keep track of your favorite anime and manga. After creating an account, click the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner to start searching by name or check out the homepage with lots of options.

With the MyAnimeList (MAL) app, click the calendar icon at the bottom to see seasonal anime.

After seeing the movie of interest, click on it to add it to your list. You can assign it a status like Watching , Completed , Plan to Watch , On-Hold , or Dropped (Watching, Completed, Intended to Watch, Paused, or Dropped).

A different color bar will appear, depending on the state you selected: green is viewing, blue is completed, gray is intended, yellow is paused, red is abandoned.

If you add read or watched content, you can rate it from 10 - Masterpiece to 1 - Appalling . MyAnimeList will automatically set the start and end dates but you can manually change that date as needed.

You can also select the current episode or season for your convenience.

How to discover new anime on MyAnimeList

You have several ways to find new anime and manga on MyAnimeList. With the app, try going to Club and asking for recommendations, browse content in the Seasonal section for what's on air, or head to Discover for trending anime, top 10, recently added and more again.

The site offers even more search options. One of the best features is the Recommendations section . Here you can see titles to choose from based on what you liked. Suggestions on the page are given by fans like you.

Click Anime Search or Manga Search to search by genre, from the usual categories like fantasy, action to more detailed like CGDCT (Cute Girls Doing Cute Things).
