Opera GX Discord Nitro Offer Has Expired: Check Current Trials Safely

The one-month Discord Nitro offer described in the original Opera GX promotion expired in 2024. Its claim buttons, eligibility rules, prices, and dates should not be used for a current redemption. Do not install an old browser build or follow a copied claim link in an attempt to revive it.

Discord and partners run new promotions from time to time. Treat each as a separate offer with its own claim deadline, redemption deadline, eligible accounts, countries, payment requirements, and automatic-renewal terms.

What the old Opera GX promotion looked like

The campaign was presented inside Opera GX as a one-month Nitro trial.

Eligible users opened the campaign page and selected Claim now.

The redemption then continued on Discord. A legitimate promotion should end on an official Discord domain and ask you to authorize only the access described.

The offer was browser-specific, so its claim control could be unavailable elsewhere. That restriction is now irrelevant because the campaign itself has ended.

How to verify a current Nitro promotion

1. Start from Discord’s app, Discord Support, or the verified partner’s official site.
2. Check both the date the code must be claimed and the later date it must be redeemed.
3. Read the eligibility section. Previous Nitro, Nitro Basic, Classic, boosts, or another trial can affect eligibility.
4. Confirm the country, device, account age, payment method, and partner-account requirements.
5. Inspect the final URL before signing in. Do not scan an unsolicited QR code or provide a login token, backup code, or verification code.
6. Read what happens at the end of the trial before accepting it.

Discord Support cannot normally bypass a promotion’s eligibility rules. If an offer is not displayed for the account or the official page says it is ineligible, a third party cannot safely “unlock” it.

Payment methods and automatic renewal

Some trials require a valid payment method and may place a temporary authorization hold. Others do not. The archived Opera flow asked users to choose a payment method:

The confirmation screen showed a monthly Nitro subscription:

After redemption, the benefits appeared on the account:

Do not rely on old fixed price or hold amounts. Review the current checkout page, currency, tax, billing date, and renewal cadence. Take a screenshot or save the confirmation email for your records.

Cancel a trial before it becomes paid

On desktop, open User Settings > Subscriptions and choose Cancel for Nitro. On mobile, open the account settings and Manage Nitro; a subscription purchased through Apple or Google may need to be canceled in that app store.

Follow the prompts until Discord shows a cancellation confirmation and the date benefits will end. Simply deleting the app, removing a server, or leaving the partner service does not cancel billing. Discord’s current cancellation guide provides the supported paths.

Avoid fake Nitro offers

• Do not paste code into the browser console or download a “redeemer.”
• Never share a Discord token, password, QR login, backup code, or SMS code.
• Check spelling in the domain; a Discord-styled page can still be phishing.
• Do not pay a stranger for an “eligible account” or discounted gift.
• Review authorized apps after redemption and remove anything unfamiliar.

Decide whether the trial is useful

Nitro benefits and limits change, so compare the current Nitro and Nitro Basic pages inside Discord. Consider whether you need larger uploads, profile customization, streaming options, emojis, or server boosts—and whether you would pay the renewal price after the trial. A promotion is not a saving if it converts to a subscription you did not intend to keep.
