How to connect the DSL modem to the D-Link router

You can connect the DSL modem to the D-Link router using an Ethernet cable, then enter the DSL username and password.

However, most DSL modems have a built-in router and this configuration will prevent you from doing some activities such as online gaming, file sharing and webcam communication over the Internet.

To properly connect the device, first configure the modem in Bridge mode, then configure the router with DSL information, and finally, connect the modem and router to provide Internet access to computers on the network.

Modem configuration

Step 1:

Turn off the DSL source and computer. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the modem and the other end to the Ethernet port on the computer. Power on the modem and then power on the computer.
