Hey phone manufacturer, give us back the headphone jack!

It's been a year since Apple officially removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from iPhone 7 and called it 'a brave'.

According to Apple's argument, the headphone jack was outdated and no longer needed. Now is the time of wireless and the Lightning port on iPhone is also better for sound. Very quickly, you'll forget that the 3.5mm jack has ever existed.

Never mind that most headphones on the market have 3.5mm jacks. Don't mind that people hate dongles. Never mind that the sound on the wired headset is still better on the wireless. Don't worry that the Lightning port doesn't exist on any other device other than Apple's iDevice.

A year later, everything changed completely.

There have been a few small steps. With the W1 wireless chip, Apple has taken a step forward by making it easy to wirelessly connect headphones to the iPhone. From iPhone 7, wireless headphones become more familiar.

But wired headphones still provide better sound quality. Wireless can be very annoying, especially if you connect between multiple devices. Cordless headphones will never run out of battery and if used regularly, you will find this very practical. Unless you are forced to use a dongle, they will make you angry and very loose.

Speaking of wired connectivity, Apple's future vision has yet to happen. Headphones with old 3.5 mm jacks but still good bored.

If there is a uniform standard, then headphone manufacturers may be less hesitant when having to remove the 3.5mm jack. But because Apple rushes to bring Lightning to the iPhone, iPad, and most Android phones have USB-C connectivity, the easiest way for headphone manufacturers is to provide 3.5mm port cable.

The familiar 3.5mm jack is still better

Despite the fact that fewer and fewer phones support this jack. We have seen three new iPhones without this plug and rumors that the two Android phones are the most anticipated year, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will not have this classic plug. Many other Android phones like MI Mix 2, HTC U11 are the same.

It doesn't make any sense.

Can understand the desire to simplify the design of the phone, making them easier to resist. But the phone can still be waterproof even if they have a 3.5mm jack. Take a look at the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 as an example. They also don't need to be thinner now.

If you don't believe the 3.5mm headphone jack is still the best headphone jack, ask Apple. Even Apple's Beats Studio3 headphones, the largest and latest brand, also have a 3.5mm jack. Mostly they are still wireless but if the battery runs out, guess what happens? You can still use the wired connection: dongle to connect to iPhone 7 or 8 and another dongle to connect to the Pixel 2.

Everything seems to be ineffective, although Apple has 'bravely' removed the 3.5mm jack. Many people really expect phone manufacturers to bring the headphone jack back.
