Dell launches a netbook version of Chromium OS

Dell has announced Chromium, a customized version of the Google operating system, for its Mini 10V netbook line.

Chrome was released not so long ago by Google, and because it is an open source operating system, it can customize and remove features to meet the specific requirements of the developer. According to Google, Chrome will allow the computer to start in less than 7 seconds and is very suitable for netbooks because they do not need a hard drive.

Based on these features, Dell has created a customized version of Chrome for owners of the Mini 10V netbook line. All the users need to be able to install Chromium OS is an 8G space on the USB flash drive. Once downloaded, users simply transfer the image of the operating system to the flash drive and plug the device into the Mini 10V netbook.

However, the customized version of Dell is only in the pre-test form, so it may not work properly. Also, unfortunately, Wi-Fi connection can be annoying for users - they can take up to 15 minutes to identify access points.
