Android 11 operating system allows videos above 4GB
Currently, Android users who do not have root or app camera mod will not be able to record videos above 4GB. This makes many users uncomfortable because the limited 4GB capacity sometimes will not meet their usage needs.
The current film standards on smartphone devices have been raised to 4K with 60fps, and in the future can be up to 8K.
At the moment, the Android camera app will automatically cut videos into different files if the video exceeds 4GB. This affects user experience.
The 4GB limit was first introduced in 2014, when hardware on mobile devices was limited. But 6 years later, when the internal memory of mobile phones has reached 512GB, the 4GB limit itself is getting in the way of the users.
Google has realized this and decided to remove the upper limit on the Android operating system. In a description of a new Android Open Source Project, the search giant revealed that in the next Android versions they will allow Android devices to shoot 4GB-sized movies.
Previously, Google is also said to be adjusting the flight mode function on Android 11 R version, allowing users to maintain a normal Bluetooth connection when bringing the phone to this mode.
As expected, Google will release the first beta of Android 11 in March 2020.
