AMD sets a launch date for the first desktop CPU line based on Zen 5 architecture: Ryzen 9000
After a long wait, AMD has finally announced the official launch date of the first new desktop CPU line developed on the Zen 5 architecture: Ryzen 9000. Back in early June, AMD announced Opened that this chipset line will launch around the beginning of August. But today, as reported by Videocardz, AMD has confirmed that Ryzen 9000 series processors will be available on the market on the last day of the month, on July 31.
As the first CPU line to use the Zen 5 architecture, AMD is very confident in asserting that this is the fastest mainstream PC processor in the world. The company has stated users can expect an average IPC increase of 16% compared to the performance of the already quite strong Zen 4-based Ryzen CPUs.
Opening the Ryzen 9000 product line will be the Ryzen 5 9600X model with a 6-core, 12-thread configuration and a maximum clock speed of 5.4GHz. The next model is the Ryzen 7 9700x with 8 cores, 16 threads and a maximum clock speed of 5.5GHz. In addition, there will also be two new Ryzen 9 processors with Zen 5 architecture. One is the Ryzen 9 9900X which has 12 cores, 24 threads and a maximum clock speed of 5.6 GHz. Finally, the most powerful model in the entire lineup: Ryzen 9 9950X with 16 cores, 32 threads and a maximum clock speed of 5.7GHz.
AMD has not mentioned the selling price of each model in the product line. Previously, the company announced that the product's price would be announced closer to the time the product goes on sale, so we will still have to wait a few more days and weeks to get official information.
