Without fanfare, AMD has quietly added a brand new CPU to its product line, the Ryzen 5 7400F. This is considered the cheapest CPU in the Ryzen 7000 series, promising to be an attractive choice for PC gamers on a tight budget.

AMD launches low-cost CPU Ryzen 5 7400F.

Ryzen 5 7400F has 6 cores, 12 threads, boost clock up to 4.7GHz, TDP 65W and 32MB L3 cache. Although not the most powerful CPU, this configuration is enough to meet the needs of casual gaming.

Notably, the Ryzen 5 7400F has a very attractive expected price, possibly even under $150. Compared to the Ryzen 5 7500F (about $162) with the same configuration but a slightly higher clock speed, the 7400F is clearly a better "cheap and delicious" choice.

AMD has not announced an official launch date for the Ryzen 5 7400F. However, the fact that the CPU is listed as globally available suggests that AMD plans to make it widely available.
