A series of Lenovo laptops upgraded to run Windows 8

The company's five new IdeaPad laptops allow Core i7 processors, 1-TB hard drives and Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics cards.

Recently, Lenovo continues to introduce a series of laptops running Windows 8 under IdeaPad at IFA 2012, Berlin (Germany). New products include IdeaPad U510, IdeaPad Y400, Y500, Z400 and Z500 laptops.

The manufacturer said, IdeaPad U510 and Z500 will be sold in September with prices starting at 679 USD (about 14.1 million VND) and 549 USD (about 11.4 million VND). Meanwhile, Y400 and Y500 sold in October with prices from 649 USD (about 13.5 million VND) and Z400 from November with starting price of 549 USD.

Ultrabook IdeaPad U510 is 21 mm thick, weighs 2.17 kg. Manufacturer said, this model uses Intel Core i7 third-generation processor, 1 TB hard drive with 32 GB SSD cache. The supplied battery can operate continuously for 6 hours. In addition, the product also comes with a DVD drive along with Blu-ray.

Meanwhile, IdeaPad Y400 and Y500 target users in both multimedia and gaming segments. In particular, Y400 has a size of 14 inches and Y500 is 15.6 inches. These two models are equipped with UltraBay feature to help users add additional hard drives, heat sinks or graphics cards.

In terms of configuration, these two models allow the choice of the most advanced processor, Core i7, Nvidia GeForce GT 655M graphics and 1 TB hard drive. In addition, the device is equipped with a keyboard that supports backlight and JBL external speakers.

The two IdeaPad Z400 and Z500 models in the Z series have a size between the U and Y series. The manufacturer said the two models are 25% thinner than standard laptops and run standard CPU voltages.

The Z400 and Z500 have dimensions of 14 and 15 inches respectively, with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. The machine has many different colors like blue, brown, pink and white. Users can opt for an Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce GT 645M graphics with a 1TB hard drive. The operating time of both laptops is 3 hours continuously.
