At CES 2024, Google introduced new features for Android, notably the ability to share files more easily between devices.

Quick Share - Quick share

For Samsung users, they may be familiar with the Quick Share feature. Meanwhile, not all Android users like the Nearby Share feature. And to provide the best experience, Google said it has cooperated with Samsung to provide the best sharing solution between Android devices.

Quick Share will provide peer-to-peer content sharing across all devices in the Android ecosystem, from phones to Chromebooks. The companies have also worked with Windows PC manufacturers to integrate Quick Share as a built-in app.

Expanded Fast Pair support

Google will bring the Fast Pair feature to work more seamlessly with Bluetooth headsets on Android. Over the next month, the search giant plans to expand the list of Fast Pair support, such as Chromecast with Google TV and other integrated devices expected to launch later this year.

Ability to stream multiple applications and devices

From now on, Android users can stream TikTok content from their phones to Chromecast-integrated devices. Additionally, more devices are planned to integrate this streaming feature, such as the LG 2024 TV series and even LG Hospitality Healthcare, allowing content to be streamed to the television without needing to log in to the app.

In addition, Google also allows users to transfer content playing on Spotify and YouTube Music from Pixel phones to docked Pixel Tablets.

Greater device interactivity with Matter

As more and more consumers use smart devices, Google wants to ensure devices from different companies are interoperable. To achieve that goal, the company affirms that it will continue to select the Matter protocol (the new standard for smart home platforms), LG TVs as well as some Google devices and the Android TV operating system, as the role is the hub for Google Home.

Android Auto in car

Android Auto will soon be available on the Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning. Additionally, Android Auto-compatible electric vehicles will be able to share real-time battery information with Google Maps to enhance the driving experience by providing an estimated battery level upon arrival at the destination. These new features will also help users estimate the amount of time needed to charge the vehicle.

Many leading auto brands will also better integrate apps like Google Assistant and Google Play directly into the cockpit display. This new addition will be rolled out to brands such as Nissan, Lincoln and several other automakers.
