Xiaomi Xring 01 benchmark results on Antutu are disappointing: 13% lower than advertised, losing to both Snapdragon and Dimensity
During the launch event of the XRING 01 processor, Xiaomi confidently announced the performance level that the chip achieved on the AnTuTu scale of 3,004,137 — an impressive number. However, a recent independent test by Chinese reviewer S.White "poured cold water" on Xiaomi's claim when the actual results showed that this chip only achieved 2,613,424 points on AnTuTu V10 — 13% lower than what was advertised.
Lost heavily to Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400
Although manufactured on TSMC's 3nm N3E process , XRING 01 is still a "younger brother" when compared in terms of Antutu performance with some competitors on the market, such as:
- Snapdragon 8 Elite (Qualcomm): 2,954,535 points (13% higher).
- Dimensity 9400 (MediaTek): Leading despite not integrating power-saving cores like XRING 01.
The reason the Snapdragon 8 Elite excels may come from its custom Oryon cores , while the Dimensity 9400 is all about pure performance optimization.
Xiaomi claims that the benchmark results were measured in a controlled environment , but S.White's actual testing shows that room temperature greatly affects chip performance. When component heat increases, the XRING 01 cannot maintain maximum performance, leading to a "sliding" score.
The test does not explicitly state which devices are using the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400, making the comparison unfair. Thermal solutions (such as vapor chambers, heatsink structures) can make a big difference in scores, even with the same chipset.
Currently, XRING 01 only appears on Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra . The tech world is waiting for teardowns to evaluate the actual heat dissipation capabilities of these two devices.
This is not the first time a company has "inflated" benchmark scores for advertising purposes. However, the 13% gap of the XRING 01 is a wake-up call for Xiaomi's ambition to design its own chip. Will the company be able to adjust before the product is officially launched commercially?
