Moon halo: A phenomenon of white light around the Moon with a radius of about 22 degrees (width of 44 degrees in diameter).
When the weather is very dry, little water vapor, the density of ice particles (ice) on the upper floor of the atmosphere is very low. When entering the atmosphere, light from the Moon (which is illuminated by the sun) will penetrate the hexagonal crystals that are refracted. This process causes the same phenomenon as passing through a diverging lens and creating a halo phenomenon.
When seeing halo moon phenomenon, it is predicted that the weather in the following days will be hot and dry.

Canopy : The aura around the Moon is a multicolored halo (a bit like a rainbow) and is not distinctly separated from the moon's disc.
Moon canopy appears when there is a thick cloud layer in the upper atmosphere, containing many frozen water, the light from the passing moon is refracted many times and disperses clearly, not forming a single refractive angle anymore.
When we see the phenomenon of moon canopy, people predict the next days it is cloudy and it is easy to rain soon.
However, the sentence "Sunlit halo moon, Rainy moon moon" is only relative. Because, depending on the density and number of cloud layers in the atmosphere, we can sometimes see that the Moon can appear both "halo" and "spread" at the same time. In addition, when the 'Moon halo', the weather is hot, it is this weather phenomenon that can also cause the pressure difference in the atmosphere, generating wind, storm and rain.
