A series of amazing natural phenomena that you cannot see every day, or never in your life
Sometimes nature brings us natural phenomena with special effects like techniques in Hollywood blockbusters. And if "naturally seeing a strange phenomenon" like this happens, you might consider yourself lucky, because most of them require some particularly strict conditions to form. Some of them may even make us wonder if we're on another planet.
1. Comet Hale Bopp is seen above the ancient stone circle Stonehenge
Comet Hale-Bop orbits the sun in 1997 and became one of the brightest comets in history. It was a gift in the sky, because it could be seen with the naked eye for over 18 months.
2. Cloud hole - a door to heaven?
Imagine that it was a very cold day and the horizon was full of clouds. Suddenly, you see a big hole, where you can see the sky through it. This is not the beginning of the appearance of UFOs, it is called a vent or cloud hole. This phenomenon occurs when a large number of small ice crystals burst in the cloud layer, causing the water droplets to evaporate. It is completely physical, but incredibly magical.
3. A bow made of mist looks like an albino rainbow
When you see this rainbow, you may think that you have lost the ability to distinguish colors. Keep calm and enjoy, because a bow made of mist is like a albino rainbow. Instead of being made up of water droplets, it is made up of small dewdrops. Because they are smaller, they only reflect white, giving us a kind of spooky and mysterious image.
4. Not waves, it's lava on Hawaii beaches
In May 2018, the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii erupted. It threw ash and ashes up many miles into the air and spewed dense lava tubes all the way to the Pacific Ocean. The lava traveled so far, destroying Hawaii's largest natural freshwater lake. It also shot at beaches, filling Kapoho Bay and extending to a new land nearly 1.6 km long into the sea.
5. Comets fly near the Sun in 1976
Comet West was described as one of the brightest objects passing inward within the solar system in 1976. Its nucleus splits into four fragments, giving a spectacular image of its long tail. At the time, this was one of the very few comet crashes observed from Earth.
6. Pyroclastic flow creates volcanic clay
Seeing an erupting volcano is a rare occurrence, but another extraordinary event can add to the uniqueness of this sight. When a volcano erupts, it emits a pyroclastic flow, a hot stream of ash and ashes moving at a fast pace. Sometimes, the power it creates throws everything together, combined with extreme heat, to create an incredible light show.
7. Rainbow waterfall is rare in Yosemite National Park
Only a few lucky people witnessed this scene directly at Yosemite National Park, when the waterfall turned into a rainbow. This is a great example of a situation when sunlight is reflected on water droplets in special cases. It looks like Photoshop, but is a work of Mother Nature.
8. Frozen waves on the Croatian coast
A violent storm sent the waves up ashore, then quickly froze them to temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius in 2012. The waves crashed onto benches and lampposts on the promenade around the coast, freezes on impact. This has caused the coast of Senj, Croatia, covered in hard ice to look like ice cream.
9. The desert is full of fresh flowers
The "super bloom" event in the desert in California usually occurs every 10 years. It requires a variety of conditions such as: stable rainfall, warm temperatures and weak winds. The desert will then turn into a colorful picture with thousands of wildflowers blooming at the same time. A great gift for everyone.
10. Column of the sun on the sea of ice
The reflection of light on small ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere can create a solar column. If the light comes from the sunset, this event can "freeze" us in a beautiful moment.
11. A super huge blood moon rises behind the Parthenon in 2018
A total lunar eclipse combined with a supermoon is a relatively rare phenomenon. In the 21st century, there are 87 total lunar eclipses, of which only 28 are super moons. In 2018, sky watchers could see a super-large moon and real-life phenomena combined at the same time, for the first time in decades, making the moon bathed in a red glow.
12. Iridescent clouds
If we see the sky shining as if there were huge soap bubbles floating in it, then it is not that we are hallucinating, but the opportunity to witness the iridescent clouds. This unusual effect only occurs when very uniform droplets of water distract the sunset light.
13. The Himalayas first appeared after 30 years
In April 2020, a sharp drop in pollution caused the authentic image of the Dhauladhar mountain range to appear magnificently in the eyes of people living 213 km away, unheard of in decades.
14. Snowfall in spring in Tokyo
Seeing snow in Tokyo (Japan) is not something special, but what makes it really surprising is that this happened in April - when the cherry trees are in full bloom. Tokyo has about 7.6 times snow each season, mostly in January and February. And this year 2020 is the first spring snowfall in 32 years.
15. Sunset at midnight
During the summer months in Iceland, the sun is still visible at midnight local time. And you can witness a sunset at 1:30 in the morning. And if you look at this moment at a height of 60 meters of Seljalandsfoss waterfall, it will be extremely spectacular.
