Understanding Viettel Installed the First 5G Broadcasting Station in Vietnam

On April 5, 2019, Viettel installed the first 5G station in Vietnam on the roof of Viettel Center in Hoan Kiem District to prepare for the 5G network test. 2 more 5G stations will also be deployed by Viettel at Viettel Group headquarters at No. 1 Tran Huu Duc and Viettel Net's office at 19 Duy Tan. It is expected that these 3 5G stations will officially broadcast, bringing the first 5G experience in our country, in early May.

In preparation for planning and designing 5G wide area network, 70 5G stations are expected to be completed and installed in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh in June 2019.

On April 4, 2019, a number of operators in Korea including SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus and US Verizon network deployed the 5G commercial network in the world.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that 5G is an opportunity for Vietnam to develop connection services, change telecommunications rankings in the world and develop ICT industry.

Vietnam will be the first countries to deploy 5G. Specifically, Vietnam will test 5G in 2019 and move to trade by 2020.
