Users can now cross-post from Instagram and Facebook to Threads
This feature also allows you to cross-post from Facebook, further integrating Meta's 3 different social networking platforms. However, this feature is still limited to static images, does not support Instagram Reels sharing.
For Instagram, TechCrunch explains that you need to opt in to the feature and can then choose to cross-post manually or automatically, then share all of your posts.
This feature requires users to enable the Threads sharing button when posting photos. After a user cross-posts on Instagram, the caption will become the text for the Threads post and the hashtags will be converted to plain text.
Users can choose to use the crosspost option once or set up automatic sharing to always crosspost to Threads. This feature is available to all users globally on iOS and Android devices.
Facebook also performs a similar process.
There is a new Threads option that users can enable when entering posts. At the top, next to options like "Only Me" and "Add an Album", users will see the Threads logo in the "On" or "Off" state. This feature only applies to posts with text and links, not videos.
