In a new study, black bears are landing north of New York, USA and tend to spread. To this conclusion, the Cornell University team investigated the human-to-bear interaction as well as factors related to the distribution of bear populations in New York.

Earlier, scientists discovered in the southern New York area that the density of bears was quite thick including an organization (containing many bears) on every three square miles. Currently, they tend to land, more widely distributed in northern New York.

A detailed analysis of the research team published in the Journal of Wildlife Management said that there is no correlation between human land use and bear density, which undermines the theory that children people are strongly affecting the density of bears. Many scientists believe that this widespread migration may be due to the uncontrolled increase in bear populations that force them to expand the population distribution.

However, understanding how they select the natural distribution environment is still a mystery, based on which we can predict their behavior in the future.

Angela Fuller, Cornell professor of natural resources, said: "There may be limited obstacles for them to continue moving north because they are also fully distributed in this area."

In southern New York, the previous Black Catskill and Allegheny bears have developed into a single geographical range. The researchers tracked them by using DNA from sticky hair samples in barbed bands at more than 200 animal research stations.

"We are using a non-invasive genetic approach, an important new method that has never been there 15 to 20 years ago , " Fuller said. "In the past, we had to go out and arrest, then mark each bear."

Fuller and her colleagues are currently recruiting as well as support from local scientists to accurately measure bear populations in North New York.

Fuller said: "It is likely that more bear populations will spread to the north and the areas in this area will have an increasing number of bears."
