Toshiba has introduced new SCiB batteries for laptops at the Ceatec show, Japan that can recharge up to 90% of power in just 10 minutes.
According to Toshiba, SCiB (Super Charge Ion Batteries), temporarily called the super-fast battery Ion, will be a safe and non-explosive battery when collided as lithium batteries are often caused by batteries that use a material. better heat resistance, designed to prevent short circuit or overheating. Furthermore, SCiB batteries will have a life cycle of 5,000-6,000 chargers compared to Lithium-Ion batteries with only 500 charges.
At the 2008 Ceatec, Toshiba installed SCiB batteries into the Dynabook laptop.
The first SCiB battery version was introduced last year but only for industrial applications. SCiB batteries are also applied to Schwinn Tailwind's E-Bike, Taiwan will be sold in Europe and the US in early 2009. Toshiba's fast-charging SCiB battery promises to boost the market. Laptops thrive in the following year.
