Next year Apple will redesign the iMac and MacBook Pro
Both of the more profitable computers for "Apple" will be changing many designs and hardware upgrades in the first half of 2011.
A source from Digitimes has just revealed, Apple is planning to renew the iMac and MacBook Pro in the first half of 2011 including the redesign and hardware upgrades of the machine. This will be good news for Mac lovers because in this year's upgrade, Apple hardly changed its appearance but only upgraded the hardware for these products.
The iMac and MacBook Pro will have a new look next year.
The notable point of the iMac is that in addition to owning a new look, this model will be more affordable than before to reach more consumers. Other details of changes are not mentioned but most likely the machine will use Intel's new platform processor Sandy Bridge and the new generation graphics chip.
Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro is also expected to have a slight change in design and is likely to be Apple's first laptop running Mac OS X Lion. Other rumors have also appeared, including the use of AMD graphics card Radeon HD 6000M series.
Both the iMac and MacBook Pro will be produced by Foxconn and Quanta, the source said. Quanta is often the manufacturer chosen by Apple for making an iMac. It is expected that next year, Quanta's revenue sharing rate with Apple will also increase from 20% to 28 or 30% in 2011 thanks to Apple's outstanding growth over the past time.
