LG 27GP850 monitor review: 2K 180Hz resolution, harmonizing gaming and creative work
Today's high-refresh rate, fast-response monitors also have much better color reproduction, contrast, and viewing angles than before.
The UltraGear 27GP850 monitor is also designed by LG to achieve this purpose, making it a versatile product for those who are "creative by day, try-hard by night".
Opening the product box, we find connection cables including a round-head power cord, HDMI cord, DisplayPort and a USB cable to use the USB Passthrough feature, plugging other peripherals directly into the screen.
The base of the screen is divided into 2 parts, connected by 2 screws at the bottom like this.
Under the stand has the logo of the UltraGear product line, imprinted and when installed, it is also behind the table, so we do not see much during use.
The vertical column has a small groove at the back to put the headset in.
The pins connect to the screen through 4 pins, the bottom and top two are designed differently, so you don't have to worry about plugging in the opposite direction. In addition, the monitor is also compatible with the VESA standard, so those who do not like feet can use the monitor hand to mount it on the table or wall.
The back of the 27GP8550 is designed quite aggressively with "gaming" black and red, with the mount located in the middle and the connection ports on the right edge.
Ports include USB Passthrough, 2 USB ports, Displayport, 2 HDMI, 3.5mm port and power port.
As an IPS LCD screen, the 27GP8550 can't be "thin" like LG's OLED TVs, but it's not too thick - actually measuring about 2.4 - 2.5cm.
Controlling the functions of the screen is a multi-directional key (Joystick), much neater than equipping with many different buttons.
The monitor is equipped with Nvidia G-Sync anti-tearing technology, and is also compatible with the AMD FreeSync standard.
With the included legs in the box, the 27GP850 is height adjustable.
. or rotated 90 degrees for vertical use. Vertical use to surf the web or type code is very nice, but perhaps for those with 2 or more screens, using 1 screen vertically is also a bit . neck fatigue!
Not only "gaming" in the design but also the control interface of the screen also has pitiful features, different from the interface of other screens.
In terms of configuration, LG 27GP850 has a 27-inch IPS LCD panel with 2K resolution with a refresh rate of 165H, and can "Overclock" to 180Hz, the fastest GtG response rate of 1ms. High refresh rate and speed Low feedback helps players react more quickly to the elements in the game, provided that the computer configuration also has to keep up.
Even during times of not playing games, just surfing the web, scrolling on the screen or opening files, we can feel the "smooth" compared to standard 60Hz monitors.
Although it is a gaming monitor, the 27GP850 still does not compromise too much in terms of image quality - which is very important for those who work in the office, create photos and videos. The screen has a wide viewing angle from an IPS panel, covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and is compatible with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard.
