Leica launches S3 camera: 64MP Medium Format sensor, 4K video recording
1 year after announcing the prototype at Photokina 201 8, Leica finally announced the camera with a Medium Format sensor - Leica S3 .
We have a sensor with a ratio of 3: 2, 30 x 45mm size with ISO range from 100 - 50,000, 15-step dynamic range and 64MP resolution, which is 71% higher than the 37.5MP sensor of Leica S2. The sensor will be supported by the Leica Maestro II image processor, a large 2GB data buffer that can hold 6 RAW DNG images and an unlimited number of small JPEG images.
Leica S3 - The One
Unlike the new Medium Format machines such as Fuji GFX100 or Hasselblad X1D II, the Leica S3 is not a mirrorless camera but a traditional DSLR. This means that the device will save energy between shots, helping users take 1,000 photos before the battery runs out.
Video camera with 4K / 24p resolution across the sensor with FullHD 30p. Users can take photos and videos on 2 memory cards, one SDXC and one CF.
Leica has allowed users to pre-order products for $ 19,000 (about 441 million) .
