Two years later, also in March, US female workers in the textile company that established the first union were protected and gained some rights.

1909

On March 8, 1908, 15,000 women marched on New York streets demanding salary increases, reduced working hours and the fight to cancel the arrest of working children.

In 1909, the US Socialist Party announced that the International Women's Day was February 28, 1909.

1910

On March 8, 1910, at the second International Women's Conference (Socialist International), 100 women delegates from 17 countries demanded the right to vote for women.

Conference president Ms. Clara Zetkin, a German woman, proposed to select an international women's day to thank the women who have struggled all over the world. The conference decided to select March 8 as the International Women's Day, the day of women's unity and struggle with the slogans: "8-hour working day", "Equal work", "Protect mothers and children ".

Since then, March 8 every year has become a common struggle day for women working all over the world, praising women's will to fight around the world.

1911

International Women's Day was marked for the first time (March 19) in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland - where more than one million women and men participated in the rally.

1913-1914

March 8, 1914: German women demand the right to vote but are accepted on October 12, 1918.

1917

On February 23, 1917, according to the Russian calendar, (ie March 8 of the calendar), Russian female workers set out to protest and strike, demanding bread and demanding to return their husbands and children from the battle.

This strike caused the Tsar Nicolas II to abdicate and greatly contributed to the October Revolution in Russia.

1975

March 8, 1975, the United Nations began to pay attention and organized the International Women's Day.

1977

In December 1977, the United Nations decided to invite countries to spend a day to speak out about women's rights and world peace.

And March 8 was chosen as the International Women's Day, honoring women around the world.
