iPhone 17 series will have charging capacity surpassing iPhone 16 Pro Max

While Apple enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the launch of the iPhone SE 4, expected on February 19, rumors surrounding the iPhone 17 series continue to emerge. Apple is expected to introduce a new iPhone line with significant changes, affecting the design and materials used.

Accordingly, "Apple House" will replace its current iPhone Plus line with the iPhone 17 Slim with a new design, including a 6.6-inch screen, ProMotion feature and a rear camera. According to MacRumors, analyst Jeff Pu stated that the iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Air will be equipped with a titanium frame instead of aluminum.

Titanium is significantly heavier than aluminum, making it an unusual choice for the iPhone 17 Air, which is designed to be ultra-thin and light. The analyst previously claimed that the iPhone 17 Air would be just 6mm thick.

However, that's not entirely out of the question, as analyst Ming Chi-Kuo also claims the device will use a titanium-aluminum frame. Apple could opt for an alloy with significantly less titanium than the iPhone 15 Pro's Grade 5 Titanium, which only makes up 6% of the alloy.

iPhone 17 Pro will have aluminum frame

As for the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup, Jeff Pu believes that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all feature aluminum frames, which is in line with previous rumors. On the other hand, sources say that Apple will maintain the current use of titanium frames on the iPhone Pro models.

The motivation behind this change may be related to Apple's recent focus on carbon neutrality. The company has pledged to be 100% carbon neutral by 2030, with the Mac mini M4 being billed as the company's first "carbon neutral Mac."

It is expected that the iPhone 17 series will be advertised in a similar way, establishing a clear model and making clear the company's priorities in the process. However, it is not yet known whether the iPhone 17 series will use aluminum frames.

Fast wired charging up to 35W on iPhone 17 Series

Jeff Pu has made several claims regarding the iPhone 17 series, saying that the iPhone 17 Air will be 6mm thin and that the devices will have 12GB of RAM. Now, he has also confirmed that the 2025 iPhone 17 series models will support wired charging speeds of up to 35W.

In our previous review, the iPhone 16 Pro hit 34W with the right wired charger and could even hit 39W when charging.

If "Apple" is ready to upgrade the charging capacity as rumored, this is definitely good news for iFans who are looking forward to the new iPhone line.
