Intel announced new standards for ultrabook

These models must have a minimum continuous operating time of 9 hours and no less than 23 mm thick if a screen is removed from the keyboard.

On the occasion of the upcoming Haswell on June 4 , Intel has announced new standards for ultrabook . The company said the new-generation ultrabook computer must have a maximum thickness of 23 mm if a "hybrid" and 21 mm design is available if the keyboard cannot be removed.

Next-generation Ultrabook will have stronger graphics and longer battery life. Specifically, the device must operate continuously for at least 9 hours when running on Windows 8 , showing HD video continuously for a minimum of 6 hours and waiting for 7 days or more.

In addition, to be called ultrabook , upcoming models must support both the touch screen and the voice control function. Face detection is also recommended by Intel for these models.

According to Slashgear, the upcoming Haswell chip will include models of the H, M, U, I, K, S and T. series, in which the H-series processor will have four cores and the graphics chip Intel Iris Pro also series M will have two options: four cores and two cores. The U series uses Iris graphics chips and targets ultrabook models while Y is power-saving models aimed at "hybrid" computers that have a screen design that detaches the keyboard.

Intel's new generation K-series processor targets desktop computers. Users can select four-core and two-core chips. The manufacturer also offers two models of S-series and T-series power-saving chips for desktop computers.

The manufacturer said every new generation Core i5 chip will cost less than $ 300 (equivalent to 6.3 million). In particular, the cheapest chip model for desktop computers will be the Core i5-4570 model which costs 1 92 USD (about 4 million VND) and the most expensive is the Core i5-4670K price of 242 USD (about 5 million VND). Core i7 chips will be sold at a starting price of US $ 303 (about 6.36 million VND) for Core i7-4770 models and up to a maximum of US $ 339 (about 7.12 million VND) for the Core i7-4770K model .

Besides Haswell platform processor, the manufacturer intends to introduce more super energy-saving Silvermont platform chips in the near future. Intel said that some models have similar performance to Celeron and Pentium chips, so they will be renamed instead of Atom, the name that many users know by low performance.

In addition to integrating standards such as PCI or SATA, upcoming Celeron and Pentium chips will also be able to support both Android and Windows operating systems. As expected, computer models, including laptops, " hybrid" computers and all-in-one, using new Silvermont platform chips running Windows 8.1 or Android will be introduced later this year or early next year.
