How to use Nintendo Switch with USB keyboard and mouse
If you like playing games like Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch, but want a PC-like layout, you're in luck. Keyboard and mouse can be used on Nintendo Switch to enter passwords, comment on photos and even play games.
Note : The information in this article applies to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.
What you need to play games with keyboard and mouse on Nintendo Switch
To play games with the keyboard and mouse on the Switch, you may need to buy some extra peripherals. The best option is Gamesir VX AimSwitch. It is a keyboard and gaming mouse combo compatible with Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS3 and Xbox One. Delta Essentials keyboard and mouse combo is almost identical in terms of design, function and price.
If you already have a favorite gaming keyboard, there are also USB adapters like the HYCRUS Keyboard and Mouse Adapter for Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PS3. Other options include C91 Keyboard and Mouse Adapter and Delta Essentials Adapter.
You can also connect a gaming mouse and keyboard with Cronusmax Plus Gaming Adapter in combination with a PS4-to-Wii U adapter like Gam3Gear Brook. However, the cost is equivalent to AimSwitch, so unless you already have these peripherals, buying AimSwitch would be more reasonable.
Supports Nintendo Switch keyboard and mouse
Most USB keyboards are compatible with the Nintendo Switch, but you cannot play games using a regular keyboard. However, you can use it to enter passwords and other text. Many people find the physical keyboard much more convenient than the Switch's on-screen keyboard for things like: Adding comments to screenshots uploaded to social networks. Plugging a standard gaming mouse into a Switch won't work.
Some companies make keyboards specifically for the Switch, but the only difference is that they have slots on the sides to hold the Joy Con gaming controller. However, since you still can't play games with the keyboard itself, there's no reason to buy a special keyboard just for the Switch.
Note : Many PS4 headsets are also compatible with Nintendo Switch.
How to connect a keyboard to Nintendo Switch
You can plug any USB keyboard into one of the USB ports on the Switch dock. The switch will detect the keyboard immediately. No additional setup required.
The keyboard can also be used while the Switch is in handheld mode with the help of a USB to C-adapter. You can even use a wireless keyboard with Switch. Just plug a Bluetooth dongle into the Switch dock and it will work automatically.
Hope you are succesful.
