Google updates the Material guide for programmers
Android 5.0 is available on some new devices, all modifications and additions are better suited to the new interface of Google: Material Design, which is underway. In that spirit, the Google blog today updated the instructions for application developers.
Among the major changes are the addition of links to the Android developer documentation called 'What is Material'. This category will provide developers with a clearer, more in-depth look at the Material design.
In addition, Google also provides more details on how to better design icons and more:
- New category of product icons (launcher icons for Android apps)
- New forms like navigation drawer, navigational transitions, scrolling techniques, refreshing (refresh), date / time formats, and information error.
- New components are added and updated with pickers (transcripts: dialogs, dialogs, and menus).
- New category of two-way interactive usability.
Obviously these new guidelines are very meaningful for developers but also good for end users. Because of that, we can better visualize the way and how the design works.
